A warm thank you to Stan Yokell, who offered to share the following photos and reflection on the website.
“Attached are several photos of David Sive taken on our 123 mile hike from Watertown, NY over the high peaks of the Adirondacks when we were 17. Our friend Lenny Zincker accompanied us. We climbed everything in our path. We had a heavy canvas tent that leaked when it rained. We stayed in lean-tos whenever possible.
We ended up in Keene, near Lake Placid. From there we hitchhiked to Elizabethtown to visit my cousin, and future wife, Edie Gersen. Edie’s parents welcomed David and made him feel at home, hence the letter he sent them thanking them for their hospitality.”
